Catamaran Fontis actually a Unicode-compliant Latin and Tamil text type family created for the digital age, designed by Pria Ravichandran. The Tamil is monolinear and was designed alongside the sans serif Latin and Devanagari household Palanquin.

It presently comprises of 9 text weights, creating it a versatile household that strikes a balance in between typographic conventions and that bit of sparkle. (A catamaran is usually a multihulled vessel consisting of two parallel hulls of equal size. The catamaran notion can be a relative newcomer for Western boat designers, been employed since time immemorial among the Dravidian individuals, in South India.)

The Catamaran project is led by Pria Ravichandran, a sort designer from India.
