While Josef Albers was teaching at the Bauhaus in the 1920’s he developed the concept of using geometric shapes to create abstract alphabets such as Schablonenschrift and Kombinationsschrift. This kicked off a trend of Art Deco stencil typefaces, notably Futura Black.

In the 1960’s—a designer for Elektra Records used similar circle and rectangle shapes the create a logo for the rock band, The Doors. This hand-drawn logotype has inspired a typeface called Densmore. In applications which support ligatures, a double lowercase o combination will automatically be replaced by a mirrored oo combo.

There are 3 styles of Densmore: Regular, Blue and Pink. The Blue and Pink styles can be used to create layer effects: change colors, offset, experiment.
