The Rick Griffin fonts are based on the 1960s psychedelic poster lettering of the Californian artist Rick Griffin.

The letterforms are derived from his most celebrated posters of the late sixties, in particular the archetypical Jimi Hendrix/John Mayall ‘flying eyeball’ poster of 1968.

The Rick Griffin font is plain and surprisingly legible at small sizes.

Rick Griffin Contour has the additional outline characteristic of many Griffin posters and comes with a separate Rick Griffin Contour Ground font of identical spacing and kerning, which enables colour overlays to be created.
